Cellulite is one of the most searched aesthetic concerns in North Atlanta — and one of the most poorly treated. The reason most clients don’t see meaningful improvement from the treatments they’ve tried isn’t a lack of options. It’s a lack of understanding of what cellulite actually is and what level of intervention it genuinely requires.
At Seranova Sculpt & Beauty in Alpharetta, we take a different approach. Before recommending any treatment, we assess the type and grade of cellulite present, the condition of the overlying skin, and the underlying tissue structure. The right treatment for Grade 1 cellulite is not the same as the right treatment for Grade 3.
What Is Cellulite, Really?
Cellulite forms when fat deposits push through the fibrous connective tissue bands (called septae) that anchor the skin to the underlying muscle. When these bands pull downward against fat that is pressing upward, the characteristic dimpled or orange-peel texture appears.
It is not simply a fat problem. It is a structural issue involving the interaction between fat, connective tissue, and skin. This is why diet and exercise alone rarely resolve it — and why fat reduction treatments alone are not sufficient without also addressing the skin and connective tissue layer.
Cellulite is typically graded by severity:
- Grade 1 — Visible only when skin is compressed. No visible dimpling at rest.
- Grade 2 — Visible when standing, but disappears when lying down.
- Grade 3 — Visible at rest in all positions. Skin has a persistent orange-peel texture.
Treatment selection at Seranova is guided by grade, area, skin condition, and whether fat reduction is also a goal.
Cellulite Treatments at Seranova Sculpt & Beauty
Cryotoning (Cryoskin)
Cryotoning is Seranova’s primary treatment for cellulite reduction. Delivered using the Cryoskin device, it applies a precisely controlled cold thermal massage to the affected area, stimulating microcirculation, accelerating lymphatic drainage, and triggering collagen synthesis in the dermis. The result is a progressive improvement in skin texture, a reduction in the dimpled appearance, and an overall firming of the treated area.
Cryotoning does not destroy fat cells — it works specifically on the skin and connective tissue layer, making it the appropriate first-line treatment for cellulite as a standalone concern. It is most commonly applied to the thighs, buttocks, abdomen, and upper arms.
Mono RF (INDIBA)
For clients with moderate to significant cellulite alongside skin laxity, Mono RF (INDIBA) offers a deeper intervention. The monopolar radiofrequency energy penetrates into the subcutaneous layer, delivering controlled heat that stimulates fibroblast activity, improves tissue organisation, and tightens the structural architecture of the skin.
It addresses the connective tissue component of cellulite at a deeper level than surface treatments, making it the preferred option when cellulite is accompanied by noticeable laxity or significant textural irregularity. Used in combination with Cryotoning, Mono RF (INDIBA) and Cryotoning deliver results that neither achieves independently.
Cavitation
When cellulite is accompanied by soft, pinchable fat — particularly on the outer thighs and hips — Cavitation can be incorporated into the treatment plan to address the underlying fat volume contributing to the structural pressure. By mechanically disrupting fat cell membranes using ultrasonic waves, Cavitation reduces the fat load pressing against the septae, which can meaningfully improve the severity of cellulite when combined with a skin-focused approach.
Hot and Cold on the Same Day
One important note for clients considering combining treatments: thermal and cryotherapy-based treatments are never performed in the same session at Seranova. Applying heat and cold to the same tissue on the same day creates competing physiological responses and reduces the effectiveness of both. Your treatment plan will be structured to sequence these appropriately across sessions.
How Many Sessions Are Needed?
Cellulite reduction requires consistent treatment. A single session will not produce lasting results. At Seranova, most cellulite treatment programmes are structured as a series of six to ten sessions, with frequency and spacing determined by your assessment and how your skin responds.
Improvements in texture and tone typically become visible from session three or four onwards, with the most significant changes appearing after the full programme is complete and collagen continues to mature in the weeks that follow.
Maintaining Results
Cellulite treatment results are not permanent without maintenance. The structural factors that contribute to cellulite — fat pressure, connective tissue integrity, and skin quality — are all subject to ongoing physiological change. Most clients at Seranova return for maintenance sessions every four to eight weeks after completing their initial programme to preserve their results.
Supporting your results between sessions with adequate hydration, light daily movement, and lymphatic-supportive habits makes a measurable difference to both the speed and durability of your outcome.
